Syed Alwi Mohd Sultan
Syed Alwi is an experienced C-Suite executive with more than 23 years of professional experience across various industries including financial services, consulting and IT software industry. He is the former President and Chief Executive Officer (P/CEO) of Agrobank, a development financial institution focused on the agriculture industry in Malaysia. He was also previously the Managing Director and Regional Head of Islamic Finance at BNP Paribas Malaysia Berhad, EVP of Strategic Planning at Bank Muamalat Malaysia and Director of Islamic Origination at Standard Chartered Saadiq, amongst his previous roles.
He is presently the Chief Executive Officer of A Tech Insure Sdn Bhd, a Kuala Lumpur-based fintech and insurtech digital application firm that offers financial solutions in Islamic finance, takaful and insurance industry. He is also a Board member of Perbadanan Tabung Pembangunan Kemahiran (PTPK) and Chairman of the Investment Committee of PTPK. He is a graduate of the International Islamic University Malaysia where he completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy and MBA (Islamic Finance). He completed the Certificate in Fintech Programme at Said Business School, University of Oxford, UK. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Universiti Malaya.
