Shamzani Mohammed Hussain
Shamzani has 27 years of Banking experience in various roles across Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. He has served in a number of international and leading financial institutions which include HSBC, AIG, FGB, FAB and Bank Muscat – Meethaq Islamic Banking. His experience in the field of Islamic Banking and Finance started in 2005 when he was assigned to the UAE to head HSBC’s Islamic Financial Institutions business within HSBC’s flagship global Islamic Banking business – HSBC Amanah. He joined FAB in Abu Dhabi in 2013 and successfully established FAB SIRAJ, which became a leading Islamic Banking business in the UAE. Between 2016 till 2019, Shamzani was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Islamic Banking Committee representing the UAE Banking Federation. During the same period, Shamzani also represents FAB in the UAE Islamic Banking CEO’s forum. Shamzani joined Bank Muscat in May 2019 as General Manager – Meethaq Islamic Banking. Meethaq Islamic banking is currently the leading Islamic Banking business is the Sultanate of Oman in terms of asset size and branch network. In addition to his vast global experience in setting up and managing Islamic banking businesses Shamzani holds a Bachelor Degree (BBA) in Finance as well as Masters Degree (MBA) in International Business and Human Resource Management from the University of Miami, Florida.
